Here are two of our most recent backdrops we’ve stylised to fit a first birthday party.
Fairy First Birthday Backdrop
Our fairy first birthday backdrop was totally inspired by the theme ‘fairy first birthday’ (like very first) We wanted to create a whimsical, magical, fairy wonderland that could be easily set-up into anyone’s party.
Alara’s Fairy First Birthday party was held at her parents house in their gorgeous suburban backyard. We set-up our backdrop and the props in the garden. Many backdrop hire business don’t allow for outdoor set-up. But as we have designed and built all of our backdrops we have ensured to optimise the strength and stability of the backdrops to allow for outdoor use.
We began by setting up the biggest backdrops, the main arch, the large fairy wings and the two half sail arches. Then we brought in our many props, (this backdrop & set-up has so many cute little props involved) Our props included our white cylindrical plinth, our jumbo pink and white mushroom and two giant freestanding flowers. We then had eight separate flower arrangements to apply to our backdrops, including our two little fairy fences that envelope the ends of the backdrop. We did this so the set-up could truly be its own and look like it came straight out of fairy land.
Once that was set and everything was placed nicely we added the little touches, such as Alara’s name. Alara’s name was cut out of white acrylic for this event. We also added a multitude of white 3d butterflies to the backdrops and some props including the jumbo mushroom. These small touches made such a special difference.
Alara’s mum also wanted a custom sign to add to their party. The sign was to say ‘fairies only’ and should fit the aesthetic of the backdrop of course. It should look like it was kind of constructed by the fairies themselves. You can see an image of this down below.
A Blue Starry Night Birthday Backdrop
This backdrop was inspired by the sky, shades of blue and get its name from Van Gogh’s most famous oil painting. We designed this one to be free-flowing, fresh and unique. We aspired to give the boys or anyone who loves blue an equally as awesome backdrop setup as the fairy first. Although it has a little less elements than the fairy first backdrop this one is still 4m+ in width and creates a magical and large impact on your space.
We recently restyled this backdrop for little Elias, who was celebrating a joint first birthday and baptism. His mum had shades of blues and a touch of gold as her party colour palette and let us freely design the floral arrangements.
We set up the large elements first like the hollowed arch-rectangle, the skinny arch and then added the two remaining cloud backdrops. The clouds in the centre of the backdrop are attached to the hollowed arch-rectangle.
We then customised the vinyl signage to say what we were celebrating that day with Elias’ name. We really like the way the white vinyl looked on this one. It looked really smooth and sleek.
Final thoughts..
Looking back at these first birthdays and the styling and decor, we want to acknowledge the gorgeous mums who let us do our thing and let us take heaps of photos too of course. We were super stoked with the backdrops and even happier how ecstatic you both were with our backdrops and set-ups.
